Birth and early years in Brooklyn, youth in the wilderness of Long Island. After graduating with a philosophy/literature degree from NYU began designing profile-raising materials for community arts organizations, an influential early music ensemble, an educational film company, and individual visual artists, including Sari Dienes, Richard Pousette-Dart, Alan Gussow and others. Provided design work for Marcus Ratliff, Inc., a studio creating posters and catalogues for major New York City art galleries and museums. Produced covers for outstanding creative directors including Frank Metz, Linda Kosarin, Lee Wade, Paolo Pepe, Mario Pulice, Anne Twomey, and Jackie Seow. Illustration and design for book publishers recognized by the Society of Illustrators, the Art Directors Club and the Bookbinders Guild. Book covers in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.
